CronLychma
most commonly referred to as 'Corpse Flys'. these insects have evolved from once was known as a cock-roach. Their predecessors were rumored to be able to survive anything, is fly thankfully isnt so lucky and is quite squish-able. generally a hive class insect, they have six legs but keep two up along the body with the hard shell that protects its wings from the harsh world it lives in. the two withdrawn legs are used only to anchor to a mate, these creatures are both genders of the race, each able to produce young provided they have a mate to mate with. generally non-aggressive, they seek out the dead and consume its flesh to utilize the blood to absorb water and the tissue to strengthen its shell and grow. they mature in three days, their life span easily three months or more. mature flys measure three inches long their teeth able to saw bites from bone if given time. crushing these flys is not recommended due to the flys attraction to blood, crushing one releases the flys stored blood as well as a scent only other flys can detect, it is theorized that when facing near-extinction event, this pheromone they release on death signals to other flys to seek out living prey, there have been only a handful of reports of swarms seeking out the living, every report dead with the death of the victim. luckily these flys generally keep the the wilds and avoid cities due to the general cleanliness of cities and how cities dispose of their dead. their color alternates based on time of year and mating potential. it has been rumored that they can be trained to seek out specific victims but this is widely considered a myth with zero basis or proof.
