Ta'ba
Ta'ba are the large worms that inhabit all of the Saname desert. They are large creatures that dwell underground. An average Ta'ba is 20ft in length and 8ft across at the mouth. Their mouths have hooked teeth that curve inward to help snag their prey. The prey is lured to them by pools of water the Ta'ba presents to the unwary. Using a special sack of stored water they bury underground leaving just their mouth open at the surface and let the water from this sack fill their mouth giving the appearance of a desert pool of water. Animals come to drink and snap the Ta'ba closes it's mouth locking the victim in it's cruel teeth then drags it underground to begin to digest it. Most Ta'bas are light tan in color in order to blend in well with their sandy environment. They have retracting eyes like snails, which can protrude from beneath the sand when they are seeking prey to set their trap. The water sacks can be harvested for pure drinking water though it does have an odd lingering taste.Their source of water is the animals they trap.
