The Nomadii are also partnered with a canine animal known as Hounds. The hound is a mutation of a dog, it is believed. They are average weight of 180-200 lbs and do not have fur but instead are scaled much like lizards. The scales near the head and shoulders are thicker thus making good defense. When angered the scales can raise and have razor sharp edges and the hounds use them effectively in battle. Their eyes have a nictitating membrane that protects the eyes from the harsh winds and glare of the desert sun and at times will glow. Ears are upright allowing them to hear the faintest sounds. Their tails are spiked and they have fangs resembling the ancient dire cat. Their feet are more lizard like in appearance as well, allowing them the ability to scale almost vertical surfaces and to grip. They range in color from a light tan to a deep black, some have even reported seeing some rust colored ones. Some say that the Nomadii have a psychic link to the hounds but no one has been able to verify this as of yet as the Nomadii jealously guard the ownership or partnership of these animals and it is very unlikely you will ever see one with anyone but a Nomadii.
