Continued from 'Serendipitous Travel''

~the Dawn had begun to bring to the darkness a new light, a reclaimation of light that would douse the dark, the cold, and the fear that crept in the shadows. though truth of the sands were never so cut and dry, the sun brought with it darker shadows, the pain of heat, and a brightness that would wash away those unlucky enough to be caught un prepared.

~here, Cain crept around the cool dunes base, the dune towered upwards where the crest could be seen lined with the orange thread of the new day, behind him, only a few hundred feet were the same towering cliffs he had looked down upon the sands, the dead, and the mystrious woman whom had vanished below. Xrysis kept his distance, still upset with Cain but still knowing his position, and his role. the cliff beside them were more overhang than a strait up and down, here in the cracks and cregs of the broken rock laid a miniature oasis. green plants rare to the sands were few in numbers but lush and full, the cliffs above provided shelter from the hottest of hours, and the rocks below could hold water for ages, a natural spring unseen.

~the day was safer now for them from the creatures of the dark, and here between the brush he sat and sighed a bit. his mind too full of questions and concerns to truly be able to enjoy the small bit of natural life given mercy from the world. the cracks and angles of the broken cliffs walls hid animals of several sorts. their droppings littered the area in some spots. several large blocks of stone that fell from the cliffs above had the small tracks of said animals skirting their base.

~Cains back was turned to the dunes and he faced the cliffs, his hands came to his face and the sound of his mask cutting free the seal with a hiss. lifting his cold metal face to reveal and cold face of flesh, he tried to wipe from his mind the idea of a Howler but such a thing was easy to do. his eyes seemed unfocused as he seemed lost in a memory that haunted his vision. there was a slow blink and he looked over to Seri and what she had been taking the time to do~
